Justin Smith grew up in Northern Mississippi where he learned the value of hard work in the family business. His father began in residential roofing, and Justin remembers the day he and his twin brother Jarred were asked to honestly share their opinion. Should the family business transition into full time commercial? In their teens at the time, Justin and Jarred were already managing the crew quite capably and with integrity.
Justin continues with that same admirable character as the owner of Valley Hill Roofing amidst the beauty of the Colorado mountains. “Our focus back then and still today is Honesty, we say what we mean and keep our word. If circumstances like weather prevent us from fulfilling our commitment, we are upfront about what we can do and how much we can accomplish.”
Money is not the most important thing in life. Justin sees every roof as unique and provides the best solution for each roof and building owner, whether it’s a small repair or large replacement. “I believe that ultimately God is in control of life, and so I must serve him over any selfish ambition”.
Toward the end of 2016 Justin and his family made Northern Colorado their home, realizing there was no better idea than to open Valley Hill Roofing a mile high! His wife, three daughters and son love the drier climate, and the whole family enjoys the outdoors and mountains whenever possible. “To spend a day at a mountain lake fishing with family or friends is about as good as it gets”.
A slice of heaven, the Smith family bought a piece of land in the country east of Fort Collins. Located a bit higher in elevation than the surrounding area, their land is nestled in a little hollow, so hence the name Valley Hill was formed. Roofing and service has been in the family vein for decades.
